Dozens of beds could go at Devon's hospitals

It's been revealed dozens of beds could be cut from Devon's cottage hospitals.

The Northern, Eastern and Western Devon CCG are meeting next week to decide whether to move towards a community based approach to healthcare.

A total of seventy two beds are in jeopardy.

Hospitals in Tiverton, Exmouth, Sidmouth, Whipton in Exeter and Seaton could see a reduction in beds and Honiton and Okehampton could lose them completely.

Doctor David Jenner, from the group, says it's not just about balancing the books.
