A driver has had a miraculous escape after his car plunged a thousand feet down cliffs in North Devon.
The vehicle came off the A 39 at Countisbury Hill near Lynmouth.
The man raised the alarm at some nearby holiday apartments.
The RNLI in Ilfracombe launched their lifeboat in rough seas to help search the beach at Sillery Sands. They made sure that noone else was in the vehicle.
Carl Perrin, their coxswain, says the team carried out their search with strong winds and heavy seas making conditions challenging.
