No replacement buses for cancelled Exeter services in Sunday night shambles
Some rail services through Devon were cancelled last night, leaving passengers to find their own way to their destinations.
GWR blamed staff shortages for cancelling some trains on Sunday night, Tweeting an apology, but not helping much practically. They're now inviting passengers to claim compensation which may be forthcoming if travellers can show their journey was delayed by more than an hour.
The company was unable to lay on alternative bus services for its shortcomings, and didn't explain on Twitter what had caused the staff shortages and such little notice. Passengers took to social media themselves to complain at being abandoned without forward travel arrangements.Cancellations though are thought to have only affected two London services.
Last year, GWR undertook an expensive rebranding exercise to distance itself from its former name First Great Western.
