There were more seat belt offences than mobile phones
Police say around 50 per cent more people have been caught not wearing seat belts as those fined for using their mobile phone whilst driving.
10,000 images have been collected by cameras using artificial intelligence over the past year, which capted 6,000 people breaking seat belt laws and 4,000 drivers using a phone.
Devon and Cornwall Police say a large proportion of those killed on its roads who were not wearing seat belts were aged 16 to 24.
