Devon's police are warning drivers that moving roadworks barriers can be a serious offence.
It comes as the county council are urging motorists to take extra care around roadworks – both for their own sake and for the safety of highways contractors.
Just a few weeks ago the Highways Agency raised similar concerns - and said they'd seen drivers removing signs and barriers at roadworks, and driving along closed-off stretches of the carriageway.
