VIDEO Prince William makes pasties
The Duke of Cornwall has been in Cornwall!
Prince William visited the duchy on St Piran's Day - the patron saint of tin miners, and the county.
His Royal Highness planted three oak trees, donated by the duchy, at Gear Farm in St Martin, near Helston, which will form part of a new woodland area.
Geraint Richards, Cornwall Ambassador and Former Head Forester to the Duchy of Cornwall, says: “These Duchy oak trees have been donated as part of our wider commitment to supporting farmers and strengthening Cornwall’s landscapes. Woodlands play a vital role in protecting soil, encouraging biodiversity and improving resilience to increasingly unpredictable weather. Following Storm Goretti, this planting marks a positive step as the farm looks ahead.”
The duke also turned his hand to making pasties at the family-run Gear Farm Pasty Compan which produces traditional Cornish pasties using organic homegrown ingredients.
