Police looking for witnesses
A 92-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Paignton last night.
Emergency services were called just before 5pm after the collision between a beige Citroen Xsara Picasso and the woman on the sea front.
She was taken to Torbay District Hospital, but later died of her injuries.
An 81-year-old year old woman from Brixham who was in the front of the car was treated for minor injuries at Torbay Hospital but later released. The elderly male driver from Brixham was uninjured.
A bronze-coloured Kia Ceed, driven by a 51-year-old Paignton woman, was travelling behind the Citroen at the time of the incident and the two vehicles were involved in a further minor collision. The occupants of the Kia were uninjured.
The road was closed for six hours for an investigation.
