A scheme being trialled in Exmouth to increase recycling has got good initial results.
The district council is now collecting more materials including cardboard and plastic from around 900 homes in the Colony area, as part of its pilot scheme.
In the first week, there was an increase of 60 per cent in the amount of recyclable materials collected - a total of three and a half tonnes.
