Plans to redevelop a Grade II listed Georgian Mansion near Exmouth have been given the go-ahead by East Devon District Council.
Michael Caines - the Exeter-based Michelin chef behind the project - hopes to restore and extend Courtlands House into a 21 bedroom luxury country hotel.
Once completed, the renovations will also turn the listed property into a fine dining venue that will host weddings.
The application was approved, with conditions, following a site visit to Courtlands House by East Devon District Council's Planning Committee this morning.
The proposed work will include parkland with a nature trail, tennis court and croquet lawn.
Following the decision, a spokesman for the council said that the development would provide a great economic boost for the area, attracting more visitors and bringing in around 80 extra jobs to the district.
