Two test positive
Exeter City Football Club has tested first team players and coaching and medical staff for Covid-19 - and two people are confirmed to have the disease.
The tests, taken during the last week of May, are the first phase in a ‘return to playing’ programme at the club.
The club has introduced strict measures around testing and visiting the training ground. The two from the group who had tested positive had not displayed any symptoms associated with Covid-19.
In line with protocols set out by the English Football League, they both began a seven-day period of self isolation and will only start training at the club again once they have a confirmed negative test.
The club won't say who the two people are because of "medical confidentiality".
