Exeter's Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital is expecting a surge in alcohol-related admissions to Accident and Emergency over Christmas.
The hospital says that, in line with the national trend, cases of alcohol poisoning on are on the rise and tend to peak during the festive period.
It is traditionally a very busy time for Exeter's A&E and consultant Adam Reuben is asking the public to access other health services if they are suffering from minor ailments.
