A petition against the privatisation of Royal Mail, containing a hundred and sixty thousand signatures,has been handed in to Downing Street by an Exeter postman.
Darren Rowbotham is a local member of the Communication Workers Union which is strongly against the move.
They believe a privately-run postal service would be looking to cut costs by making fewer deliveries, particularly in rural areas, and employing fewer staff.
The Department for Business and the Royal Mail deny that and say deliveries will continue six days a week.
Meanwhile the union is balloting its members on strike action in protest against issues linked to privatisation.
