Exeter's RD&E hospital has announced that it's now on 'black alert - meaning that its services are overwhelmed by the demand. .
The hospital has been on red alert, the stage below, for a week and had to cancel all elective surgery last Tuesday.
Managers met yesterday afternoon to discuss the latest situation.
