You could be starring in a new play all about the Exeter Chiefs.
The Exeter Northcott Theatre is holding open auditions this Friday [30 May 2025] for 35 extras to star in Exe Men.
Penned by Ashley Pharoah, the acclaimed writer behind TV hits Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, "Exe Men" is his first play and tells the tale of how this local rugby team defied the odds to become double-winning champions of England and Europe.
It's a story of "personal sacrifice, determination, fierce local pride and a collective desire to put a proud region on the sporting map” - based on Rob Kitson's book of the same name.
You don't need any prior acting experience, but you must be 18 or over.
Producers are particularly keen to find someone who resembles Rob Baxter, the club’s director.
Exe Men is a collaboration between Exeter Northcott and a professional cast, supported by a community ensemble.
If you're interested in being part of this epic underdog story, register to audition by contacting the theatre directly for more information.
Exeter Rugby Club Chairman, Tony Rowe CBE, never imagined the Chiefs' story would become a play, but believes it "perfectly demonstrates just how special the journey of our club has been.
Exe Men runs at the Northcott Theatre from October 7th to 18th.
