The Communities Secretary is being asked to intervene to stop a Dawlish farmer having his land taken away from him by Teignbridge council.
A three and a half thousand signature petition's being handed to Eric Pickles in London later today by Richard Weeks, who faces a compulsory purchase of his land by the council - because they need to create a country park to mitigate the impact of a large local housing development.
His supporters say there are alternative pieces of land available and using one of them would save a lot of time and money - as the compulsory purchase will involve a public enquiry.
