Exeter Cathedral is to have its first full-time female Canon in its 900-year history.
Canon Anna Norman-Walker was previously a priest in mid-Devon, before taking a job that gave her a part-time role at the Cathedral.
In her varied new job she'll supervise the Cathedral's work with homeless people and its monthly 'alternative' Holy Ground service.
She'll also lead its work hosting public debates, develop links with schools, and be involved with the visitors department.
