It will be closed for a spell
A Dartmoor pub used last week for what's thought to be filming for the forthcoming Harry Potter TV series has been damaged by fire.
The blaze broke out in a storeroom of the Cleave Inn at Lustleigh on Sunday morning.
Three fire engines were originally sent, but more were called for when they saw that the adjoining property had a thatch roof.
Another five fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and water bowser, were also sent.
Writing on Facebook, a spokesperson for the inn said: "Infortunately we’ve had a small fire in the early hours, Everyone thankfully is okay thanks to Devon Fire Brigade's speedy response. It’s the cellar/store but this means we will be closed for a few days. We need to clean up and re-stock. We won’t know for a few days what the cause was despite early speculation by some."
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
The pub's manager Paul Webber, who noticed smoke as he was going to bed, thanked the comprehensive response from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue. "They worked magic," he said.
