Ashburton Fire Station has shared these dramatic photos of a serious crash on the A385 yesterday morning (Wednesday 6th March).
Emergency services were called to Allerton at around 0930 to the crash involving a lorry and car.
Fire crews from Ashburton and Buckfastleigh worked to cut a woman out of her car. The air ambulance also landed in a nearby field, but she was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Ashburton Fire Station said in a post on Facebook: "Thankfully, the young lady who was wearing her seatbelt and the deployment of the cars safety airbags undoubtedly saved her from further serious injury. Remember seatbelts save lives, so be sure to Clunk, Clip, every trip"
