It will be held on the same day at the county elections
A by-election for one of the Barnstaple seats on North Devon Council will be held next week on the same day at the Devon County Council elections.
One of three Barnstaple with Pilton seat is up for grabs following the resignation of Ian Roome, who became North Devon’s MP last year.
Standing in the by-election are Loki Gareth Phillip Dawson for the Liberal Democrats, David Ian Jarvis for Reform UK, Rhys Daniel Jones for the Labour Party, Lisa Jayne Mackenzie for the Conservative Party and Howard Porter is the Green Party candidate.
Mr Roome, a former leader of North Devon Council and a Liberal Democrat district councillor since 2015, announced his intention to rleave the council after becoming an MP.
He is also not standing again as a county councillor for Barnstaple North after serving one term of four years.
He said it was not possible to be a councillor and MP at the same time.
