Members of HMS Defender’s ship’s company will exercise their Freedom of the City of Exeter for the first time this morning.
The 200 men and women who serve on board will gather near Sidwell Street from about 11.15, and then march down to the High Street for the official conferring of the Freedom of the City, by the Lord Mayor.
The crew will then parade through the streets with bayonets fixed, drums beating and flags flying.
