Temperature expected to be in mid-to-late 20s
A yellow heat health alert has been issued for Devon and Cornwall.
The warning from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) will be in place from noon on Monday until 6pm on Wednesday.
It means potential for significant impacts across health and social care services, including a rise in deaths, particularly among people over 65 or with health conditions.
Although the westcountry will not reach the highs expected in the south east, the Met Office says temperatures of 26C are on their way.
Isolated thunderstorms could develop.
