Campaigners for Exeter's women's refuge to be reinstated say they're hopeful of making progress.
The charity which ran the refuge, SAFE, is hoping to obtain new premises, with the help of Exeter City council.
The current contractor for domestic violence services in Devon, the charity Splitz, doesn't provide its own refuges, but does work with those that exist.
Meanwhile women needing to escape an abusive partner are being reassured that they will be looked after - they can contact the city council for emergency accommodation.
