A study on East Devon's Pebblebed Heaths has revealed that it's even more of a wildlife and conservation treasure than some might have thought.
More than three thousand species of animals and plants have been recorded there in recent times, including over 350 rare or endangered species.
It's because the heath doesn't just offer one type of habitat, but a 'mosaic' of different ones.
