Police were called to an illegal rave on Dartmoor just after midnight this morning.
Up to 500 vehicles with over 1000 people are thought to have attempted to attend the rave at Bellever Woods near Postbridge.
The land is owned by the Forestry Commission which says no permission has been sought or granted to hold the event.
Officers used Public Order Act powers under the to prevent the gathering from continuing and have established road checks.
