Devon county council is set to join forces with local authorities in France to lobby for better legislation to safeguard against marine pollution, caused by shipping incidents.
They're going to sign a joint declaration which will pave the way for them to work together for change.
Councillor Stuart Hughes will visit France next month to meet other members of the Cross Channel Forum and officially sign the document.
