Knife amnesty draws to a close

Today is the last day of a week long knife amnesty in Devon and Cornwall.

People can dispose of them at designated police stations without fear of prosecution.

Knives of any description can be disposed of including lock and "zombie" knives, samurai swords, kitchen knives, replicas and ceremonial items.

Most stations, which are open to the public, have collection bins. Although they're shut today, the force say people can use the phone outside Heavitree road in Exeter or South Street in Torquay, to contact an officer and hand them in.
