The 70-year-old fought off a dog thief with punches and kicks
Exeter Police Station has delivered a Christmas gift to a 70-year-old gran, who fought off a dog thief in Cowick Barton Fields last month.
The brave 70-year-old, from Exeter, was able to protect her pooch from a dog napper after "punching" and "kicking" the suspect.
Exeter Police Station has been been keeping in contact with the victim - and they're pleased to report that she's doing well.
Writing on their Facebook page, Exeter Police Station said: "We wanted to do something to add a bit of cheer to the victim after this incident especially since it's so close to Christmas, so Will from the team put in an application to Devon and Cornwall Peelers Charitable Trust which was accepted and we got a nice bunch of flowers AND a box of Hotel Chocolat chocs.
"The gifts were delivered by our very own 'Hotel Chocolat Man' (Milk Tray Man is so 1980's) - Will - from the team and were greatly received. I think we made someone's day."
