Burglary nets £2k of B&H
A batch of cigarettes have been stolen from a petrol station near Bideford.
Initially at around 2.30 a.m. on Sunday two people in hoodies and face masks entered the forecourt of Blights Garage on Clovelly Road at Handy Cross, from the Bideford town direction.
One of the CCTV cameras was moved, and the two people are seen to leave the scene. Later two people are then seen to enter the forecourt at around 3.50 a.m. from the direction of the play park opposite the garage. They force entry to the front door, causing approximately £3,000 worth of damage.
Once inside the shop, both offenders force opened the cigarette unit behind the counter and left with around £2,000 worth of tobacco, mainly Benson and Hedges.
The offenders then flee the scene on foot, back across the road, leaving a trail of cigarettes.
Both offenders were wearing hooded tops, jogging bottoms and dark gloves, with one noticeably taller than the other. Police are urging anyone who is offered cheap tobacco products in the area to get in touch.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anyone acting suspiciously, or anyone who has any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist police enquiries, is asked to contact police on 101 or via email at 101@dc.police.uk quoting crime reference, CR/005838/21.
