The emergency services have been honouring some of Exeter's people and businesses that came to their rescue during the Cathedral Close fire last October.
A special event was last night held in Exeter's Guidlhall with leaders from our local fire, police and ambulance services presenting certificates to just some of the people who kept them fed and watered, or who helped in other ways.
They also apologised for not being able to track down others; such as a woman who brought home-made soup at four in the morning.
Exeter's police commander, Superintendent Sam de Reya, says people always thank the emergency services in such emergencies, but they wanted to show their appreciation to the wider community.
