A Bradninch couple who used to be friends with Fred and Rosemary West have been jailed for a string of historic sex offences against children and teenagers.
David and Pauline Williams of Cullompton Hill in Bradninch befriended the Wests while living in Gloucester in the late 80s - where they were already sexually assaulting youngsters.
They then moved Devon where they lived in Exeter and Tiverton - and continued their campaign of rape and sexual abuse.
A police investigation was launched when a woman told a mental health worker about being raped by David Williams when she was aged just 15 - other victims then came forward.
David Williams was today sentenced to life in prison and his wife given a 12-year jail term - they had been convicted at an earlier hearing.
