A south west member of the European parliament has warned that the region's larger farms will bear the brunt of cuts to funding next year.
The EU's budget for subsiding farms in 2014 is smaller than this years, meaning Direct Payments need to be cut.
A vote in the European Parliament means the reduction will apply to those receiving more than four thousand pounds, and the smaller farms who get lower amounts will be exempt.
The conservative MEP Julie Girling says that means in practice that member states where farms tend to be smaller won't share the burden.
