
Efforts continue for find woman's next of kin
A Torquay man is appearing in court charged with preventing the lawful burial of a body.
It relates to an investigation into a woman in her thirties who went missing in the town last month.
On Tuesday police attended a flat on Upton Road on 27 May where a body was found. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
Formal identification is yet to take place and police are trying to inform her next of kin.
Jamie Stevens, 51, of Reddenhill Road, Torquay, will face Plymouth Magistrates’ Court charged with preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body between 21 and 28 May and committing an act or series of acts with intent to pervert the course of justice between 10 April and 28 May.
A post mortem examination is due to take place later this week.
A scene guard remains in place and police activity will continue over the coming days.
