Man stabbed in car in Plymouth

He has several puncture wounds

A man's been stabbed while in a car in Plymouth.

He suffered a number of puncture wounds before being found in Pembroke Lane in the Devonport area on Saturday night, and taken to hospital with critical injuries. They're now not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

It's not known how the man, who is in his thirties came to be attacked, but police say they don't believe there's a threat to the wider public.

Police were called by the ambulance service at around 9.05pm after the man was located with serious injuries on Pembroke Lane in the city. It has since been established that he sustained his injuries while in a car on Beaumont Street.

They say he had sustained several puncture wounds in an assault and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

Deputy Senior Investigating Officer, Acting Detective Sergeant Andrew Trott-Rodgers said: “We are appealing for anyone who we have not already spoken to and who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Beaumont Street area between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 23 August to please contact us.

“We believe that there is no wider threat to members of the public.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area while searches and enquiries remain ongoing, and we would encourage anyone with information or concerns to speak with officers or to contact us by calling 101.”
