There's been a surge in shoplifting offences by under 16s in Exeter city centre this week.
The Guildhall shopping centre alone saw more than 50 cases between Saturday and Tuesday.. in one case the thief was only 8 years old.
It's the biggest increase the centre has ever seen - although the items being taken are generally quite low-value, and the thefts seem opportunist rather than premeditated.
