The MP for Exeter has urged managers of the South West Ambulance service not to introduce regional pay scales.
A cross-party group of MPs have met ambulance bosses at Westminster, to discuss concerns that they were planning to abandon the existing national pay agreements.
Ben Bradshaw says the ambulance service is under financial pressure because of Government cuts, and the transfer of the contract for hospital transport services to private companies.
But he fears a regional pay agreement in this area would lead to lower salaries
