A mum-of-two from Bideford, tragically died after taking medication which had not been prescribed to her, an inquest at Exeter Coroners Court has heard.
23-year-old mum, Shanice Layton, died following a night out with her father on April 9th 2022.
After returning home with a man she had met that evening they both took prescription drugs.
On May 2, the coroner heard how Shanice, a support worker born in Barnstaple, had no history of drug misuse.
An ambulance was called to Shanice's home at around 9.30am on April 9, 2022, by the man who had stayed over.
The man was arrested at the scene but no further action was taken against him.
Coroner Philip Spinney recording a conclusion of accidental death and said: "Shanice died as a result of taking a combination of non-prescribed medications together with alcohol. The evidence does not support the conclusion her actions were intended to end her life. It is plain this was unintentional."
