Police are baffled by the theft of nine numberplates from vehicles left in a car park in Ashburton.
One plate was taken from each of the vehicles in Kingsbridge Lane earlier this month - they were found the next day dumped in a hedge.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious.
