The city council want to make the city less congested and car-reliant.
The aim of a new Air Quality Action Plan is to discourage private car use and increase use of public transport, cycling and walking.
Among the increases: All day charges are up from £12 to £15 in Guildhall, Mary Arches and John Lewis car parks.
The council claims the charges are still cheaper than other English cities.
