Devon and Cornwall Police say New Year's Eve was relatively trouble-free across the two counties - although they did arrest 125 people during the festivities.
Most of the arrests were for alcohol-related offences such as assault and public order.
They dealt with nearly 600 incidents between 10pm and 6 am - but say there was no significant disorder or crime over night and no reported raves.
They deployed extra officers and special constables, and were supported by volunteers such as street pastors.
