The death is not being treated as suspicious.
British Transport Police have confirmed a person's died after being hit by a train near Exmouth station this afternoon.
In a statement they said "We received a report at 2.57pm on 15/05 of a casualty on the tracks near Exmouth station. Officers are currently in attendance. Paramedics are also at the scene and sadly a person had been pronounced dead. Officers are currently working to identify the person and inform next of kin. This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner. "
