A new section of the Teign Estuary Trail, linking Dawlish to Teignmouth, could be provided - if the county council succeeds in a bid for funding.
The route is considered an easily-achievable section of the trail and is likely to be included in an application for money to boost cycling in the county.
The bid will be submitted to the Local Enterprise Partnership who'll decide whether to include it in an application for Government funding.
