They include a new play park and cycle path route
In 2016, a public consultation saw 77 per cent of residents vote in favour of a play park on The Lawn.
The proposal by the Teignmouth and Dawlish CIC was to create a ‘vibrant and engaging’ play park on the top Lawn in Dawlish town centre between the bandstand and the bowling green.
It would see a play area positioned at busy end of the lawn, close the Tourist Information Centre, where it could be surrounded by other activities such as a sensory ‘garden’ or exercise trails.
The play park would be vintage themed, and could be expanded by seasonal, transient, vintage themed visiting equipment, such as the swing boats that came to the town last summer, and would be aimed at children 12 and under.
It would be visible from road, attractive to draw children and families in, would bring a focus on TIC as a hub and was where the original working group wanted it before it was deemed too expensive.
