"We will catch you!"
Devon police are checking up on people who should be self-isolating. Tip offs from concerned neighbours and details from number plate recognition systems are among the police's information sources.
In the past few days, Sergeant Dan Brenchley - who operates a police 'covid car' has checked out addresses in Exeter and Dawlish. Some turn out to be false alarms, others are more concerning.
One London couple, thought to be second home owners, say they're in Devon to view houses. That's allowed under the rules, but they made a weekend of it in Devon, and ended up with a £200 fine.
Sgt Brenchley advises people thinking of breaking lockdown not to do it. "At some point, you are going to get caught," he says. "We will catch you, and it is a heafty fine."
