Plans to put council tax up by a few pounds a year to protect front-line policing in Devon have been approved today.
The police and crime commissioner Tony Hogg had to argue the case before a cross-party scrutiny panel - who unanimously agreed to the increase.
Mr Hogg says while the force still need to make big savings in the coming years, the extra income will help them keep the public safe.
