Police in east Devon are investigating an unprovoked attack on a bus driver.
The driver of the Stagecoach bus, a man in his mid-50s, was outside the vehicle in South Farm Road in Budleigh Salterton at about 20 past 8 last night when it happened.
He was approached by a man who stabbed him in the thigh - leaving the knife in the wound - and ran off.
The bus driver was taken to Exeter RD&E where the knife was removed and he was kept in overnight.
The attacker is described as a white man aged over 25, with dark shoulder length hair and a slim to medium build - he was wearing a knee length olive green, parka-style jacket.
