Devon & Cornwall Police are launching the annual drink and drug driving summer campaign today
Like the Christmas campaign, officers will once again be focussing their warnings to men under 25
Officers in Devon and Cornwall are trained in roadside Field Impairment Testing for drugs. Anyone stopped driving who is suspected of being under the influence of drugs rather than alcohol will be asked to undertake the test. Depending on the outcome of that, they may find themselves being arrested and required to provide a blood sample for analysis.
This is part of a national initiative to increase awareness of the serious consequences facing drivers, particularly younger men.
