Victim is: "luckily okay"
Police are on the look-out for a male hit-and-run driver, after a car 'ploughed through' a typically busy crossing in the centre of Exeter this morning [Sunday].
The incident happened on the junction of Western Way to South Street at around 8am.
The fire service said: "Amazingly no pedestrians were hit when this car lost control and ploughed through this typically busy crossing. One other car was hit but thankfully no injuries occurred."
They added: "We despise reckless driving and we wish the police luck in prosecuting the individual involved."
Police said that “based on witness accounts”, the driver was “undoubtedly under the influence of something”.
Any witnesses are asked to call 101.
