Constable faces seven other charges too
A police officer serving in the Devon and Cornwall force has been charged with a string of serious offences, some dating back 15 years.
Constable Matthew Tregale, 33, will appear at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court next Tuesday.
He faces eight chargers: attempted rape, false imprisonment, sexual assault, three counts of sexual assault by penetration and two counts of coercive and controlling behaviour.
PC Tregale is currently suspended from duty.
The charges relate to incidents which occurred whilst the officer was off duty between 2006 and 2021.
