He's due to appear before Exeter Magistates' Court
A Devon and Cornwall police officer has been suspended from duty after he was charged with theft from a shop.
PC Christopher Spense, who's 43 and normally based in North Devon, is due to appear before Exeter Magistrates' Court on Friday 22 March.
It relates to a reported incident in Bideford on Monday 12 January. PC Spense was off-duty at the time.
