Devon and Cornwall's police and crime commissioner has paid tribute to officers who risked their own safety to help others during the recent extreme weather and flooding.
Tony Hogg says many also endured horrendous weather conditions as they went to the aid of members of the public.
He's also praised the work of the other organisations involved in the response to the crisis - the operation was co-ordinated by the police.
